The biggest advertising noticeboard in the world?

or what ebay would look like if you cut it up and stuck it on a wall

This is one of the most creative advertising ideas I have seen in a long time. Ebay are trying to increase their take up in Madrid, a city that seems to frown on the idea of second hand buying and selling. So they decided to take over Callao metro station and paste up each and every page from the Madrid section of ebay onto the station walls - this ammounted to 7,000 adverts apparently

For the whole of January, commuters could browse images of items for sale and it was a great way to while away the minutes before the next train. I would love to know how effective it was for them and if ebay is taking off in Madrid!

  1. I thought this was a very cool idea too. Only went to the station once, but it certainly whiled away a few minutes. Hopefully it'll have the desired effect cos eBay would be damn helpful here.
