Torre Canal Isabel II

A disused water tower makes a perfect exhibition space

It was Wednesday morning and the sun was shining for the third day in a row. Perfect for a visit to a gallery with a difference. Moira wanted to go to see the exhition of photographs of Los Angeles by the legendary Julius Shulman and I tagged along too.

The tower has been sympathetically refurbished to make the most of the interior space and is ideal for photography displays. I loved the Julius Shulman images of those amazing LA houses on the hills. He was a genius at composition and judicious use of props and models to sell aspirational living! I came out feeling inspired to frame every photo I ever take with some foliage or blossom.

Click below for an image of the inside of the tower and a slideshow of the images.
