A day of sleep, sorting, chatting online to friends, listening to the Archers, a bit of washing, food shopping and generally getting organised. Just like any other Sunday really except here it is very hot and sunny. Back to work tomorrow or rather the first day of teacher training. I am looking forward to getting started.
I thought I would say more about where I am living at the moment. The nearest metro is El Carmen on the green line and the street is Calle de Ricardo Ortiz. This area has many south Americans and there seem to be money exchanges and internet places on every corner which reminds me of Peckham so yes, I feel a little at home. The flat is on the third floor and my room has a wood floor, high ceiling and a window that looks out to the back and over to other flats. I have a handy washing line outside my window and wonder what happens when I drop something below.
I took a walk along my street to the very end where I had a beer and some tortilla at a bar called J y J which made me think of my brother John and his partner James. How I would like to have had them turn the corner so that I could buy them a cerveza at that moment. I walked home as it started to darken, observing the real oranges on the trees as I practised some Spanish words. I have put an application called learn a Spanish word a day onto my google page so have now learnt wedding, relative and wicked!
